Telegram stories: post them and choose who sees them.

A Telegram story is a photo or video that sits above your chat list for a few hours. You choose how long it stays and exactly who can see it.

1. How to post a story

1. Open the chat list and tap the camera icon, or the plus on your own circle at the top.
2. Take a photo or video, or pick one from your gallery.
3. Add text, stickers, a caption or a link if you like.
4. Choose who can see it and how long it stays, then post it.

Telegram's stories post says a story can last 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours. In some app versions the shorter and longer options need Telegram Premium.

2. Who can see your story

Before you post, Telegram offers 4 privacy settings:

• Everyone
• My Contacts
• Close Friends
• Selected Contacts

You can also pick people who will never see your stories, whatever setting you choose. To keep a story after it expires, post it to your profile, where it stays as long as you want.

3. Who viewed your story

Open your story and swipe up to see the list of viewers and their reactions. Only you, the author, can see that list. You can filter it to contacts and sort it by time or by reactions.

4. Stealth Mode

Stealth Mode is a Telegram Premium feature. It erases your views from stories you opened in the past 5 minutes and hides what you view for the next 25 minutes, so the authors do not see you in their lists.

5. Stories in channels

Channels can post stories once subscribers boost them. Each boost level gives the channel one more story per day, and the admin who posts the story needs Telegram Premium.
